Splat presents a figure that appears both split and suspended. The bright yellow limbs stretch outward as if squashed flat, while thin rods pin the body in place like an oversized insect in a display cabinet. The title suggests impact and collapse, yet the structure also holds the body open, somewhere between restraint and display.
A panel of blue sweat-wicking fabric binds the two halves together, a tensile membrane that is both garment and connective tissue. The materials — synthetic padding, vinyl skin, and athletic fabric — recall industrial production, sportswear, and fetish costume, transforming familiar textures into a surreal hybrid of body and object.
Caught between humour and brutality, Splat stages the body as spectacle: pinned, stretched, and held in tension, at once cartoonish and unsettling.
